This was installed in a ’99 Damon Challenger, replacing a very dated B&W system that finally gave up the ghost. It is really sweet!
Installing it isn’t totally easy, but pretty straight forward. Mounting the monitor and camera took about an hour, and running the wire about three hours. I decided to run it inside. Routing was down the back clip, forward through the right stop light, through the back bay, and into the interior. That was the hardest as I ran it through a blind channel for about five feet. I used a 6′ length of 1/4″ all thread and pushed it through. From there, under the cabinets, down to go through the steps, then back up and along the right side wall, mostly hidden by the old shag carpet! I used a 5/8″ wood bit for all penetrations.
It looks great, has a good picture, and works as advertised. Great upgrade and reasonable price and installation time. Only gripe is with the instructions (I am a retired tech writer.) While it is almost impossible to cover EVERY installation, the instructions are pretty sparse. Example: they provide simple wire splicing clips that work great. I was familiar with them, but many people will not be. There is nothing to really explain them. Also, you may need some extra screws, especially if you are working on a fiberglass body. Also bigger tie wraps and perhaps duct tape. Still, great product, highly recommended.
