Which route is more practical?

There is about a 50 mile difference between the 2 routes, but roughly similar travel time, the company also based their milage pay calculation off the longer route through Vegas. I plan to run overnight so tourist traffic shouldn’t be an issue, however i’d still like to catch the sunrise through northern AZ and southern UT.

But is it really worth it? I’m no stranger to twisty and windy mountain highways but at the same time I’m thinking it may be more practical to take the Vegas route
