Transmission dipstick lock, not locking. Alternative?

The stupid dipstick has a locking mechanism that’s supposed to lock the dipstick shut. It’s just a clamp type of device and it doesn’t require any twisting or tightening. When you clamp it, it doesn’t clamp, you can casually pull the dipstick in and out regardless.

My question is: me being worried transmission fluid will come out due to it not working, is there a clamp or plug for this funnel and I’ll just throw the dipstick in the truck with me and use it to check the level?
