Here is why these mirrors are awesome:

These mirrors are semi-new on european trucks. They are real lifesavers though. Why? Well, you see, european roads are often and in many places really fricking narrow. 60% of the time i am close to or well at a yard in the oncoming lane and have to stop frequently to let other vehicles pass. These mirrors, i guess are similar to those american trucks have on their fenders, tell me how much space there is left between my wheel and the edge of the road or the curb.

There is often too little space to make this guess work, and saves me from getting out and checking my clearance to the edge. This way i can do some real frisky stuff to give as much space to other vehicles as possible.

The closest i stopped to an edge was two inches over, looking down a cliff. Empty, else i wouldnt have dared. My tire was two inches past the asphalt, and i nearly shat my pants. But it was either that, or reversing a mile
