Fair resolution and poor low-light performance

I’ll start with those two limitations of the M300. The resolution is not good enough for reading license plates unless the camera is very close to the plate. And the low-light performance is just poor. Even so, the camera is pretty good for the price. The mounting method is very good. One sticks the clear plastic electrostatic sheet to the windshield and then sticks the camera to the electrostatic sheet. It holds the camera very securely. I even twice lifted the sheet off the windshield (with the camera attached) to move the camera to a better location, yet it continued to hold well after placing it in each new location. By default, the camera emits a rather loud chime when it is powered up, but this can be disabled in the on-app menu. Interestingly, there seems to be no way to disable the loud chime when power is shut off, but this is easy to get used to. You can also enable sound recording in that menu, although I haven’t tried that. For me, the app connected to the camera quite well. The connection is via WiFi, so you can’t have the phone connected to any other WiFi source while using the app. The image on the app is rather small, just as shown in the picture on Amazon, but this image is great for ensuring that the camera lens is pointed correctly (it is adjustable up and down but not to the side). The cable connects to the camera by a micro-USB, and the other end is a USB-A. An adapter is included to “convert” the USB-A to a 12V “cigarette lighter” socket. In my case, I already had something plugged into the 12V socket, but that plug also has a USB-A socket on one end, so I was able to have that other thing and the M300 powered at the same time.

Works very well, easy to use. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the static plastic to mount it to the windshield didn’t work and I had to improvise with some 2 way tape. But it is one of the best dash cam I have ever used. I will be purchasing the next step up of this brand for my other vehicle

Overall I’m very pleased with this dash cam especially for the price. Despite what other reviewers say it DOES RECORD AUDIO you just have to turn that setting on. It is off by default.

I have two complaints about this device.

1. The media is stored locally, not on the app or cloud. This means you have to connect to the cameras built in hot spot to access the videos. The problem with that is a. You have to be in your car or bring the camera inside and plug it in in your house to see any of the videos (or even access the settings) and b. Since you must be on the cameras wifi hot spot to access it you can’t be on your wifi internet to download the videos so you’re using cell data which is slow and costly (if you don’t have unlimited data).

However, you can bring the micro SD inside and use your computer to access the videos, but app settings always require direct hotspot connection.

2. The incident sensitivity is too high/can’t be disabled. This camera has a feature that records video/takes photo in addition to the regular constant video when it senses a sudden stop or serious collision that it saves to a separate folder. It’s a good idea but: a. It’s way too sensitive. Even on the lowest sensitivity it would announce that it was recording an emergency video when I hit a speed bump. I disabled this feature entirely and it still does it. B. It’s really not that helpful anyway. If it’s recording an incident from the moment of impact, the information you need leading up to the incident wouldn’t be included so it’s kinda useless.

Quality is great, constant automatic recording, cheap price, easy to use and set up. It does everything I wanted, so overall I’m very satisfied.

The thing I most like this product is the compact size. It hides perfectly behind the rear view mirror and doesn’t obstruct the driver’s view. The video quality is quite good. Can record emergency video but it is way to sensitive to detect shakes. I would give it a 5 star if it was a bit wider.

中華製の低価格ドラレコを幾つか使ってますが、70mai M300は予想以上に良かったです。
以前同じXiaomiグループのYI Smart Dash Cameraや先日購入した同じモニターレスのAZDOME M300より画質は上でした。
夜間の画像も今までで一番ノイズも少なく綺麗。
スマホアプリはまだまだ改良の余地がある感じしましたが・・・・
M300は既に型古なのでもっと新しいモデルも使って見いです。

コスパ考えたら十分

リア用の追加ドラレコとして、購入しました。安くて、iPhoneとのwi-fi接続に戸惑いましたが、なんとか成功。
日本語版の説明書はほとんど無いので、QRコードでのオンラインガイドの方が参考になりました。

…が、軽のミニバンに取付ようとステー回すとカメラレンズの方がステーより、飛び出す形に…
ミニバンのリアガラスは平面なので、とりあえずちょっと斜め下にレンズが向く形で取り付けました。

広角レンズなので、何とか画角的に問題無いですが、平面リアガラスに取付る方は注意が必要かもです。
